When Will The Media Do Its Job?

Are you liking the economic downturn? Really helping that old 401k now isn’t it? People are jumping ship so fast it makes one’s head spin. Many people are cashing out of stocks and buying real estate for cash!! They figure at least they have something substantial and tangible. Better than numbers on a piece of paper.

So, if you listen, see and hear the media tell the story the economic downturn is George Bush’s fault. Of course, everything that goes wrong is George Bush’s fault. Hurricanes and their aftermath are George Bush’s fault. The War on Terrorism is George Bush’s fault. Gas prices rising is George Bush’s fault. It is foolishness. And now, the economy is George Bush’s fault!!! Listen, I don’t like a lot of the things George Bush did. Most of what I don’t like are things that he signed that Democrats loved. The past four years have been Democrat lite. I can’t imagine what added debt, taxes, unemployment, interest rates, et al we would have had if a Democrat were president. Don’t forget people, that Congress is run by Democrats…. Senate and House!! Also, don’t forget that almost every time Bush and the Republicans tried to get bills started, let alone passed, the Dems wouldn’t even let the bills come to the floor for a vote. That’s called stonewalling or better yet, obstruction.

Obstruction was a ploy to derail the administration and then when things got tight, the Dems could say it was all Bush’s fault. And it worked to perfection. The media has piled on GWB unmercilessly as they did to his father and to Ronald Reagan. They do it because their world view is much different. They believe socialism works even though it hasn’t anywhere in the world. But they believe it will work if they do it. Because they can do it the right way and utopia will finally happen, don’tcha know. Problem is, with socialism comes loss of freedom. Read your history folks. But I am far afield here. Back to the economy.

Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac were the personal playground for everyone Democrat. GWB as far back as 2001 kept calling for stricter oversight and the Dems turned him away. In 2004 the Republicans kept calling for stricter oversight but were cowed by the Democrats who came ever-so-close to calling the Republicans racists, so they backed off. In 2005 John McCain (I’m not really a fan of his) brought forth a bill to Congress that would force Mae and Mac to come under stricter scrutiny. The Dems shot that down also. So jump ahead and look where we are. The very Democrats, Reid, Pelosi, Frank, Dodd, Schumer, Obama, et al who caused the mess and stopped any oversight the past seven years and beyond are the ones who are taking credit for fixinf the mess. And Mae and Mac donated money. Why? I don’t know but Dodd tops the list of donees and Barcak Obama is second on that same list. How he got to second in just three short years baffles me. What baffles me more is why Mae and Mac are favoring anyone with political donations.

Pelosi and Obama are prancing around blaming the economic problems on the Bush Administration and the media, as always, has turned a blind eye and reported that it is indeed GWB’s fault. The media do us a disservice. They are no more than propagandists. We are watching unfold before our eyes the United States hurtling toward socialism. The difference between the U.S. and Hugo Chavez’s Venezuela is that when he got control the first thing he did was take over the media. There wouldn’t be any outlets for dissent in his country. In the U.S. the only outlet for dissent right now is talk radio and to a certain extent, Fox News. That’s it. Every other outlet, AP, Network News, Cable News, all the major newspapers and magazines, and even publically funded radio and television speak as one. It’s scary. And if you don’t believe me, look up the Fairness Doctrine, that will effectively kill talk radio. The one place where America can go as a refuge from the Left and socialism, the Left wants to silence! That’s socialism folks.

Perhaps I am wrong. Perhaps the media IS doing its job. It is slowly but surely tearing down what made America great during the Greatest Generation’s reign! John McCain was a big part of the Greatest Generation’s reign. He will be the last stalwart of the Greatest Generation.

Blaming GWB for things that he did do is patriotic, but making things up on the fly and having a media that mimics those made up things is not patriotic, it is unfair at the least, and borders on criminal. Enough!
